Our facilities feature two large studios, both equipped with large 2-way mirrors for parents to observe their children's progress at anytime without interfering with classes, as well as a large dressing room. A comfortable area is provided for waiting students and parents which features a color television and a surveillance television monitor so children can know when their parents have arrived, thus allowing them to remain in the safety of the studio. An added feature is our "Dancer's Gift Shop" which carries a variety of dance-related gifts, as well as dance attire.
Courses Offered
Classical Ballet (Children & Adult Classes) Ballet is recognized as the foundation for all dancing. It does more than anything else to make a child graceful and develop correct body posture. Ballet is becoming more and more a part of our cultural scene. Good training, even for a short time, brings with it a feeling and appreciation for beauty in music, as well as dance, that lasts a lifetime. All forms of dance are easier to learn when a child has studied ballet. Pointe is offered for the more advanced student.
Tap
(Children & Adult Classes) Another way to develop a child's sense of rhythm, coordination and concentration is by teaching proper graded tap dancing exercises and routines.
Pre School Ballet and Tap (Ages 3 through 5)
Many of Ms. Carroll's students have been selected to perform with well know, prestigious companies of dance.
Jazz (Ages 8 thru Adult) Children respond happily to the joyous movements of this truly American dance innovation. Jazz employs elements from all dance forms. Any well-rounded dance instruction program includes this popular course.
Adults Adult classes are a wonderful experience for those who enjoy or think they would enjoy dancing. (No previous training is necessary.)
Irish River Dancing (Children starting at age 6, & Adults)
Student Uniform: Dance uniforms to be purchased at
the studio to conform with color Students must be correctly dressed. Hair must be neat & securely pulled away from face and up off the neck. Jewelry and chewing gum will NOT be allowed. Classical Students- Hair in a bun or French braided.
Attendance and Make-up Policy Regular attendance is expected of all students. Punctuality in readiness for class and in leaving the studio after class is expected. If a student is ill, the privilege to make-up a class is extended. Missed lessons may be made up. Make-up not taken will be forfeited. No allowance may be made against regular tuition for missed classes or forfeited make-ups.
Lost Articles The studio cannot be responsible for lost articles. It is important that all apparel and shoes be clearly marked with student's name.
Bulletin Door Important information and school closing will be posted. Our sessions follow Coweta County Public School schedule closing. Parents and students are responsible for checking the Bulletin Door on a regular basis.
Recital Productions and Demonstration Performances Every other year at the end of our school term, we produce a Recital Production based on famous works such as The Wizard of Oz, The Sound of Music, Copellia, Etc.. This is a sizeable production involving costumes, lighting, and sound technicians, and more. To minimize costs for our students' families on costumes and other recital costs, the Recital Production is performed bi-annually. On alternate years our dance school puts on a Demonstration Performance. This is similar to a recital but does not follow a story line nor does it involve the costuming required for a Recital Production. The purpose of these Performances is to demonstrate the students progress made in learning the art of dance and stage presence.
